Hi everyone! We tuned a Type R on Monday on our dyno and wanted to share it with you guys and hopefully help you understand what sort of results you might expect if you'd like to get a custom tune from us. If you have questions or would like to setup a tune for yourself, just send us a message or email us at [email protected] and we can definitely help. We can also just baseline your car to see where you stand on your own setup maybe in comparison to this.

These are some pretty awesome changes!

Details
Tuned with Hondata (we tune KTuner too)
91 octane and E25 (25% ethanol) custom tuning
Car had upgraded intake, fmic, and turboback exhaust

Dyno graph of all 91 octane maps. This is the stock tune vs. Hondata OTS map vs. our custom tuning. The OTS map we used for this was the 91 oct with intercooler and downpipe. We selected several items in the menu that would allow the car to make the most power it could on the OTS map, we didn't really limit it's power making ability.

@edgeautosport.com What’s the most convenient and accurate way to mix E25 without a flex fuel kit?

@edgeautosport.com What’s the most convenient and accurate way to mix E25 without a flex fuel kit?
There's actually an app that I like to use called "E85 Mix Calculator Ethanol Blend". It basically asks you tank size, how much ethanol content you're putting in (which is a guess sometimes based on the time of year and station), how much ethanol is already in the regular gas, and what you're shooting for. Then it tells you how much to put in of each. Makes it a lot easier to quickly figure it out.

As far as accuracy, that's sort of dependent on the gas itself. In that case, it's good to get ethanol content kits where you can test certain gas stations to see what their ethanol levels are and how consistent they keep them. It's a good idea to do that anyway going from hotter months to colder months because that's when stations will change the content percentage a lot.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.

@edgeautosport.com Would you guys be able to tune my type r if I bring it in? or unlock the ECU?
Yes, of course. I didn't know this until last week but our tuner Alan mentioned that the ECU doesn't need to be sent in anymore I think. Give us a call or shoot us an email on Monday and Alan can answer any questions you have and set up an appointment if you're ready. [email protected] or 303-268-2140

Did you guys do that in the later evening when it was much cooler? That's pretty nutz to get that level at your altitude? Stay on the Game Plan "JP Alonso!" :)

Ha no but this is all corrected numbers. We always use corrected numbers, all the time. Our dynos would look stupid if we didn't. But corrected numbers or not, the change is really what we care about.

nice to see this. I'll be coming by in August when I arrive. I got 383hp and 397tq to the wheels...93 octane here of course. It'd be a good comparison to see how it shows on another dyno and 91 octane :(
