i'm just being wishful, because nothing beats the longevity of a factory clutch.

We have a Comp clutch kit for our cars. It’s the only one out, you cannot switch the flywheel because it has a sensor on it which detects the weight. If you change the flywheel your car will throw codes. This is a huge turn off when talking about the after market field for this generation of the Civic Si. So it’s either Comp or OEM for the moment.

seriously? what would be the point in detecting the weight of the flywheel?

I wonder if KTUNER could suppress this....

Likely so but it's part of the misfire detection system so it's best to not mess with it, unfortunately.

Emmisions, And there is no way to disable it as far as I know. Maybe in the near future, but don’t bet on it. Thank the EPA for that bullshit.

Did you seriously just copy paste Vit's response from another thread?

Yes, but it will require disabling the misfire detection system which will make you non-compliant when it comes to emissions (will fail a readiness test). Thank the EPA for that bullshit.
Well not quite but close.

Nope I did not, it’s the truth, and quite frankly it’s bullshit. They are taking the fun factors out little by little each year. It’s a slap in the face to the true car enthusiasts.

Also I’m pretty sure Vit was one of the first ones to find this out about the flywheel. I’m not taking credit for his findings, I’m relaying his words even though I’ve done my research and have been following him for the past 3 generations.

This aged poorly
Beyond the fact is was totally unnecessary to reply to a thread that's been dead for 3 years, you still need to replace the flywheel if you want to use the R clutch so not sure where this smugness is coming from
