Maybe a stupid question. Has anyone tried a aftermarket clutch, meant for the Type R, retrofitted to an SI.

I mean you can’t till the type R clutch slips and then you have the retrofitted type r flywheel so all you need is the aftermarket type r clutch only. But anyways have to do the retrofit first which is $1025 shipped if core is provided

Apologize for the super delayed response on this topic, I haven’t logged on here for a few weeks months maybe. So I’ve currently have about 15 cars out there running the ctr combo. My car in particular has about 15k on it so far, still perfect and grabs good power shifting on my 410 whp 29 psi meth map. I think once I have about 5 flywheels to circulate I will have ready to ship units.

Meth bros! ;)

Good to here. I'm not disappointed with my fx350 as of yet. But I also didn't know about the retrofit till after my purchase.

I just sent Eman a Si flywheel. It fit in a USPS flat rate 12 by 12 inch box! Only $19.95 to ship from Houston to Ventura. I also sent him $1025 by paypal. Looking forward to my new clutch!

Anyone know why Honda didn’t just make the type r and the si clutch the same ?

So does the flywheel have to be from a SI ? Could it also be from a regular Civic 1.5T ?

I just got my clutch kit from Eman. He sent a washer to put under the clutch fork ball pivot stud. Apparently that would increase the throw. I wonder if it would help some of the people with Spec kits?

No. Spec was designed as a direct oem replacement. Ctr clutch on a nonctr was not. They can try .. but it might cause other issues
