Looking at the Honda Type R catalog shots in close detail looks like they will easily retro fit all previous models plain waffles. I'll be adding the 2020 semi-waffles to my 2019, I'd assume the swap will be about $160 for all 4 panels front and back.

I may rock the red with the accent panels instead of body color.

Someone on here did the conversion for their hatchback sport and claimed the 2020 didn’t fit their older model hatch without converting the panel behind the insert itself. As far as price I believe it’s more life 250/260$ for rears and 274$ for front, again those were 2020 sport hatch touring prices. So with type R could possibly be more. BTW I’d love to see the red accents in your car if you do conversions.

The bigger question is why would you want them? They just add another unneeded visual element to an already over the top design.

I've got a great dealership, they will make it work for me priced and fit. The dealership actually has a the R race car they have a racing team and are super friendly and look out for your pocket. I'll gladly post pics up but I feel we're still many months away from the 2020's in the US though.

If I can do it why not. Looks way better than a flat waffle IMO.

Can't see it in the pic but the front panel isn't a waffle design anymore, it's like flat.

Let the poor guy express himself. If he wants to slap a fake hood scoop from autozone in front of the other hood scoop as well, go for it.:dunno:

Judging by the pics, cutting will be required like on the 5 door and SI.

As for the cost, I hope it doesn't cost that much. The 5 door parts can be purchased for approximately 260 bucks total (70 for each rear and 60 for each front) from HPC, etc. * the SI's conversion is even cheaper due to the lower cost of the rears (46.70 each).

It's like trading a waffle for a semi colored pancake I think the red accents would be sick on my specific car.

I decided to go with the Mugen front facias in Red. I'm gonna put them on this weekend.

I was told by my service and parts director PMM color is not going to be available on 2020 the CTR when it releases late this year? Anyone else heard that also? I just assumed the New Boost Blue would replace the current Blue, not eliminate other colors also?

The image is the RR Mugen covers I purchased for my PMM CTR not RR CTR. (Just an example of the grill facias I am adding to my PMM)

That’s interesting, and surprising they might be dropping the color. The good thing about the Mugen covers is that you can open up the lower grill once you put them on so it won’t be all waffle grill. I thought about getting the black ones for mine but I don’t want to make the front end too busy with the white, although I think it looks good. Or just leave it stock. There are other aftermarket designs I’ve seen but no word for production yet. As for the grill, EVS tuning has a direct factory replacement with holes cut in it in increase flow but in my opinion I don’t think anything beats Js racing open grill design. It’s just pricey. Looking forward to your build

What's the link to the Js racing parts?

I also had the rear bumper cut out so I could cut/vent the rear 2019 waffles is there a good thread or someone already did the cut outs? Tools / technique recommended how easily cut open the waffles to trim out like the grill and intercooler waffle mesh?

I talking about the center grill, not the lower bumper inserts you may have already seen the js racing grill. I was comparing it to the factory new center grill compared to js racing
