Why do they need to take off the side part of the dash and also the glove box to replace the AC unit - and risk scratching it up and doing more damage. Can't they get to it from below after taking off the - undercover? Ya know they'll screw something up and it won't fit right or rattle. Anyone had any problems with this fix?

Did anyone take these parts off of their car before bringing it to the Dealer (to avoid any damage) to have the A/C Control unit replaced?

If I am no mistaken, this is part of the Oil Dilution TSB?
I brought my Civic Hatchback in for this work, fully intact. They returned the car back to me just the way I took it in.

Just so you are aware, when it is time to replace the cabin air filter, the same steps needs to be done.
The glove box needs to removed to get access to the filter -- this filter is a consumable item, too.
