I agree with you that the 27won exhaust looks nicer and better put together but at $1200 for the awe touring it’s a tough price to beat

I take back what I said about the awe exhaust seeing as msrp is actually $1500 for the touring and the $1250 is just a sale

Just watched the AWE videos and I must say I prefer the deeper exhaust note of the 27Won. That "cold start" sound from the 27Won is much much nicer to listen to.

Thank you, I hope to have some another video next week to give you all some more audio clips.

I like the design and the exhaust sound .Some good engineering went into this.I just hate it when there's wrong info in the blogs,which i already pointed out a while ago...

Could you clarify about the wrong info on the blog?

Stock type R exhaust is not 2" it's 2,36" or 60mm OD .It only has a few places where it necks down to 2" and then opens up again to 2,36".
The stock Si exhaust is also not the same as the type R in size.Also don't get where the 78% increase comes from when you're going from 60mm to 80mm...

Allow me to help clarify.

As you stated and pulled directly from our blog here
"One of the most disappointing aspects of the OEM FK8 Type R exhaust was its size.. At 60.5mm OD (2.38 inch), which happens to match the Civic SI models, the connection from the front pipe to the mid-pipe and back exhaust still restricts down to 50.5mm (1.98 inch)."

It does measure 2.36" in most places, its does neck down to 2" in other areas, and the SI does also neck and measure at 2". Since we are only as good as the smallest part of our system, it is 2" and we reference that.

For the cross-sectional area, Area of a circle = π x R2
π x 30^2 = 2827.433
π x 40^2 = 5026.548

2827.433 x 78% = 2205.397

2205.397+2827.433 = 5032.83

So technically its 77.8%, not 78% but we rounded to the nearest whole number since its easier to communicate.

Hope this helps.

Still weird that you're using a Choke Point to reference An entire exhaust.The rear splits in 2x 2" not a single 2" exhaust.
Anyway on the website this is written ,and that's what i was referring to (not the 60-80mm but 50 to 80mm ,my bad)

"Increased flow is always a key to enhancing the performance of your engine. We increased the exhaust piping diameter from 2inch up to 3.125inch (80mm) to increase maximum exhaust flow and power. This results in 78% increase in cross-sectional area to support future power modifications."

Going from 2" to 3.125" is more then 78% increase in cross sectional area.
50.8 =>2026.77
80 => 5026.54
= 148% increase

If one already had your front pipe, and did not want/could not use a down pipe, what deal could you do for the remaining exhaust components under the current offering. A pm would be invited in response to this.
