I know I’m a bit crazy for wanting to do this but it just like soo cool. I just bought a set of sequential driver kits from Led Concepts Lighting

https://www.ledconceptslighting.com/universal-profile-pivot-sequential-drl-boards.html

This kit adds the switchback and sequential function to our headlights. The blinker strip will be white til the blinker is switched. I saw this on a guys YouTube channel.

For the time it’s going to take me to figure out how to do this I’ll need a donor set of OEM led headlights. I want to put them in the donor set and do the changeover when completed.

I have seen the $600 set of the Chinese headlights with the sequential blinker but it doesn’t have the white led strip.

So if anyone has a lead on a set that would help me greatly. I live in Canada so it would help if they were here.

When I get it completed I will have my OEM like new condition set available for purchase. It will likely be after Christmas now before I get the time to start a project like this. I’ll be taking a lot of photos.

If it’s easy enough to do I’ll be doing this to my set before I sell them.

I’ve seen them but it’s not the look I’m going for. I want to wrap the headlight in DRL strip and quite honestly I really like the look of the OEM Honda LED headlight reflectors.

I just received my donor set. Not sure if I’ll put these in and mod the oem or just mod these.

These came from China. They look to be direct replacement LED headlights. Look exactly like the oem. They did come with the retrofit harness that I won’t need. Just unplugs from the connector for the touring models.

One thing extra these have though is a up/ down headlight adjust motor. I’ve never heard on this. I don’t think my oem set have these. I didn’t notice 3 plugs. I have no idea how these work. I’m hoping for a response from someone that actually has these on their car. No speculation please.

Thanks in advance for any info.

That's for Asian market civic, just ignore the plugs.
So you want sequential switchback turn signal + sequential switchback DRL ?

These already have the sequential signal. Now I’m wondering if I can make the headlight adjust motor function. I just want to know what it’s suposed to do.

Like on my Lexus, we have headlight level sensors. It changes the headlight beam height depending on the height of the vehicle. Auto leveling headlights. Pretty neat until the sensors on the suspension fail lol.

I just installed my donor set. I ended up breaking a couple small tabs on the headlight brackets part numbers 71140TBAA00 and 71190TBAA00. $17 each cdn from the dealership so not a big deal. Just a bit of a p$ss off.

These donors have the white drl not the blue that fades to white like the video. They were out of stock. The seller said I would have to wait for stock to replenish and said it would be a month or more. I should have waited but I wanted to do the swap before the winter. Now I can focus some time on my stock led headlights.

These turn signals are eye candy though IMO.

Progress is slow but I had the time to get them apart today. I’m still waiting on the Profile sequential kit. I’ll have it in a few weeks but I’ve got all winter to do this. I don’t want to take the bumper off in the winter.

Most of the parts are held in place with plastic clips and screws. The parts I need to mod look like They are held together with plastic tabs that stick through the board and had their tops melted. (Red circled) in the last photo.

I’m going to post a lot of photos here. Maybe someone else can benefit from interior pictures.

Fell free to make a request if you need a photo of the inside taken.

The light transfer tube looks to be a quarter turn fit sitting inside the diffuser for the DRL. I tried to get that in the photos.

I had another few minutes to get the signal boards off of their reflectors. Looks like you can just use hot air from a solder torch I use without the tip for heatshrink. It worked pretty well. Nice and quick but you have to be aware of where you’re pointing the heat and for how long because the edges of the reflector housing are close to some of these tabs.

This entire assembly is hidden from sight when the light is back together. I can see the person that was assembling the headlight wasn’t too worried about scratching the reflector chrome. See in the pictures. All you have to be aware of is the curved backing. Don’t touch it. Wear gloves.

This is pretty much as much I can do for a few more weeks.

I was just taking a look at the boards that I took out. For those of you interested all these LEDs are in series. I tested the voltage at the attachment plug on this board and it’s around 40VDC. I was hoping it would be 12vdc but not so.

I was hoping to hook up to the existing harness for the turn signal but looks like I’m Interrupting the input power wire to the internal boost driver. Assuming that’s what it is.

For my turn signals it looks like the yellow and green wires for the signal. I’ll just need the yellow one for the profile driver.

Sorry I must’ve been thinking about the doner kebab. I was probably hungry when I started this thread. LOL.

I sent a message out to Morioto the other day about the power requirements for this universal sequential switchback DRL kit they sell. They said it can draw up to 12 A. Now I don’t know if I can wire them the way I wanted to wire them keeping all the wiring within the headlight. I may have to run some wires out to a relay harness the power these. It might be starting to be a little bit more work than I wanted to do but I think the end will justify the means.

On another note for those of you who didn’t know the retrofit source is Led concepts lighting and is also Morimoto. They have three different websites but share a common address and have three different phone numbers.

2Stroke 2.0 LED drop-in draw about 2 amps so I'd like to know what ginormous didoes they're putting in those things that could possibly draw an absolutely absurd 12 A. Calling bullshit on that to the fullest extent of the word.
