stock lugs now, but you're correct that I have black R40's coming next week.

Stock, as in the Ball Seat Lug Nuts that came with the Type R? If so, those should not be used with 60 degree tapered seat aftermarket wheels. Don’t want you to damage those new wheels, or worst case, have them come off the car.

I look into lug holes, and even stuck my fingers in, and it did feel slightly rounded rather than a flat bevel...Hopefully project kics R40 comes in soon. I'll double check the torque when I get home later.

yea, I'm only missing the lugs and center caps...you'll love these wheels!
Oh I already have the wheels on, just was waiting on the R40s for a few weeks now. :)

The wheels are amazing! The grip is so much better with the wider tires.

Running these for a couple weeks now. 19x9.5 +45 Bridgestone RE-71R 265/35-19. Stock ride height. No rubbing except when car was fully loaded, with passengers, sport mode. Had intermittent slight rub in the rear over bumps, or taking long loaded curves. No rubbing with just myself in the car.

I was afraid there be rubbing with the Bridgestone RE71 and/or Yokohama AD08R...both these tires have very "vertical" and stiff side walls. When I saw @GSquared 's set, I was sold on the Michelin PSS, as these tires seems to have a rounded edge. So no rubbing to report on my end.

You're on 18's, I don't think rubbing would be any problem with 18" RE-71 tires. And the rubbing was very minimal, and happened only about 4 times. I could hit a huge bump and get no rub. And I can hit a tiny bump and then hear a slight rub. Inspected the tires and 1/4 panel and could not see any wear marks on either the tire or fender. :dunno:

maybe it's new tire and slightly slipping in concrete? cause if you can find no trace, then there's no rubbing, right? oh yea, I miss read you post and thought you were on 18's as well.

So I finally switched out my lugs last night, but the lugs are pretty big. The conical portion of the new lugs is about 1/2" deep, but the cone on the wheel is only about 1/4" deep. I've went ahead and installed the lug and torqued to 94 ft-lb. My question is: as along as cone portion of the lug is fully embedded into the wheels cone, I should be ok right?

should be fine. so part of the lugnut conical part is not touching anything?

as long as the wheel's indent is filled i think that's what matters the most anyway.
