So after 15k, my stock Contis are on their last legs...
I've decided to go with the Michelin PS 4, partly because I used to run the PS2 on my Mustang and it was one of my most favorite tires ever.
But looking it looks like I have 3 size options to choose from. But with change in size changes cost and Speedo...so there's that.
245/30 - $324 - Speedo +/- 0 mph
255/30 - $311 - Speedo -1 mph @ 80
255/35 - $275 - Speedo -4mph @ 80
From a cost only standpoint the 255/35 is the way to go, but that's a huge speedo difference for someone who usually sits right at the edge of drawing attention for speed. Also, that's going to be significantly heavier and a a performance loss with the taller "gearing".
The 255/30 seems like a great balance as I can get a slightly larger contact area, and a little tiny bit extra sidewall which is always nice.
I'm an aggressive corner guy on the streets and I will be tracking the car a little maybe 1-2X/yr (first one in march).
Any thoughts?
