Was at the show today, don't remember seeing the volume knob. I did see the comfort mode/+R mode switch and that it is a 4 seater car. I also had the chance to get into the Fk2 Type R at the injen booth.

My thoughts on seeing it in person vs photos online aren't much different.

-The car is really big. I hope it doesn't feel as big as it looks when driving it.
-Lot's of carbon. I'm not sure if this will be considered standard or not
-It's beautiful.

Wait is the the type R larger than the non type R's? I know they said it's longer and wider but I was assuming they meant the "civic" platform in general was larger. I test drove a hatch last week and I didn't get the impression that it was THAT big.

The interior doesn't look to bad from the outside with the darker tint.

From what I could tell at SEMA the carbon accents weren't real carbon but a cheap carbon overlay. Honestly it looked pretty tacky so I'm hoping it disappears before production (along with the exterior red pinstriping) and gets replaced with just a normal black plastic lower. The dark metallic wrap made the car look great. It is big, but the new Civics are bigger. The proportions are nice though. It is a little overly aggressive, but that's the Type R style so love it or go get something else. It also has the red/black 2-tone interior that was also a little over the top but again screams Type R (only in the front on this car so I imagine that'll change). I don't mind red/black interior on the seats/dash, but the steering wheel is pretty awful. Despite my complaints, overall I thought it was pretty bad ass and pretty much want one.

That "late 2017" doesn't apply to us U.S. folks, we're supposed to be getting it May or June I hope........

I always thought that Honda would be offering a dual clutch auto tranny, I haven't seen anything on this though. I know Honda is currently developing a new 8 speed three cluch auto tranny but that won't likely be out for a few years.
