does anyone know hot to take out the backseat of the civic hatchback sport version ?

Reviving this thread, I’m trying to do the same with my Si coupe for weight reduction.

I wonder what the weight loss will be with the Si's rear seat taken out.

I'm thinking of taking out the rear seat in my Touring as it's just a 1 person commuter car for me.

That and the spare tire and replacing it with a slime kit, I don't expect to encounter sidewall damage anytime.

I figure rear seat is like 40 pounds and spare tire is like 30 pounds. 70 pounds of useless weight rolling with my car.

in the middle of the bottom part on each sitting side there are two little pull tabs. they are spring loaded. you need to pull up the seat slightly and pull on them but kind of pushing the seat back down at the same time while still pulling up. its weird. i know im probably not making sense.
