Dumb question, but when switching drive modes (Comfort, Sport, +R) should the car be stopped or do you just change while driving in gear? Would it hurt the car if you changed it while accelerating or turning, or going over a bump simultaneously?

you can change it anytime you want and would have no negative effect.

You can TRY to change it anytime you want and it won't hurt it, but if the car is under significant enough g-forces, it will not change modes and will flash on the dash a message telling you so. You can see this for yourself, go a little fast into a turn and try to change modes.

Yep. If you are in the middle of a turn it'll say mode change unavailable .
