Was going to create a Poll about Oil Dilution TSB results, but though a survey might be more meaningful, and provide better visibility.

So here it is --

Not seeing any significant effects of OD, so going to wait will there is a better history of what cars are doing after the OD TSB, and when there are no further changes.

How about adding gas used (regular, mid grade, premimum)... Also, manual or automatic.

"Could" ask for lots of other Data, but this is really just for the effects OIL DILUTION TSB, so tried to keep it as simple as possible and to the point.

Had first oil change done last week, and dealership tried to convince me I needed the TSB done. I refused the update as my car doesn’t see cold weather and rarely gets driven for short stints. Also my oil level was normal with no obvious smell of gasoline in the oil. I’m of the mind, if it ain’t broke don’t fix attitude, and my Si has run flawlessly from the day i got it, and don’t want something potentially getting screwed up from this update. I’m waiting and seeing how this update affects others and if any complaints arise. If no one has issues, I may or may not get the TSB done next year

I would tend to agree with you, especially as it would seem that Honda has changed this TSB a number of time, suggesting that they are still working on finding the final solution.

A Fix, of a Fix, of a Fix does not sound good to me , and I really do not want the Dealer attempting to Flash my ECU multiple times, on multiple occasions, as Honda try to figure out what is the final solution.

4000+ miles, and my oil level never varies more than "the midpoint of Min & Max" & Max.

I didn’t know that a number of TSB updates were released thus far. That definitely makes me less likely to trust getting updated. I’m just gonna keep an eye and nose on my oil regularly and change oil every few thousand and probably not bother with this TSB in the future

Oil level reached to the top of the plastic with the factory oil and then with the second oil fill. I changed the factory oil at this point. On the second oil fill I stopped driving in ECON and shortened idling. The oil dropped back to half way between MAX and the top of plastic, despite winter and not driving any longer drives at all during this time.

You should define "smell of gas," because some people may understand sniffing the dipstick, others smelling fuel inside the car. I believe the smell of gas inside the car because of oil dilution is extremely rare, as it only happened in literally several cases of hiperdilution.

I recall someone reported in the forum at what distance he could smell the gas from the dipstick. :hmm: Probably "5 feet of oil dilution" would mean a significant problem. Still, the increase of the oil level on the dipstick seems to be a better measure. I always smelled gas in the used oil of any car I had.

My car is modified with a flex kit, but even before I went flex I had issues with oil dilution causing rich conditions and messing up my fuel trims.
When I change my oil, my trims return to normal.
This happens fairly quickly, usually by the time I hit 70% oil life my trims are off by 3-4%. By the time I change my oil LTFT is at -10%
