So I washed and waxed the Si a few weekends ago and every time I get off work I come out to these tiny little bugs crawling all over the car.

Thought it might have been from the parking spot but no matter where I park, they still show up.

The only way to get rid of them is to wash the car.

I took a couple videos to show everyone. Keep in mind, this is only the driver's side. They are everywhere!

Anyone know what the hell these insects are??

I'm not sure if they are attracted to the white car, the wax, or the wash I'm using.

Chemical guys Honeydew snow foam, butter wet wax, and jet seal on the windows.

Are they springtails? They look like fleas but they're not.

Don't think so. :hmm:

Springtail Habitat. Springtails are attracted to excessive moisture and organic material. They live in soil or under decaying wood or bark, thriving in areas with leaf litter, compost and organic mulches. Springtails feed on molds, fungi, algae and decaying plant material.

I noticed too that my HB sport attracts more bugs than all other cars I have owned. I often get little flying bugs bouncing on my hood when I look out the windshield when I was stopping at a red light.

Perhaps as you mentioned they could be attracted to the detailing products you used?
Is there a scent?

Random, but does your username have anything to do with Philz Coffee?

P.S. Try using a different detailing product and see if that makes a difference.

The weird thing is they don't fly or jump, just crawling everywhere.

Do u use meguiars products?

I've noticed that they're scented by color.

From the products I've used, cream colored wax = vanilla, yellow car wash = lemon, purple tire dressing = grape, blue detailing spray = blueberry, white waterless spray wash = pina-colada.

 no relation! I did try some McGuire's gold class tonight, to wash the bugs away.

Been using Honeydew snow foam and V7 car wash.

I've been using mostly Chemical Guys stuff. For waxes, sealants, etc. I used White Light, Butter Wet Wax, and Jet Seal. For car wash, I've been using Honeydew Snow Foam in the foam cannon and in the 2 bucket wash as well. I've also tried they Hybrid V7 car wash in the cannon/buckets.

I changed it up last night and used the McGuire's Gold Class car wash to hopefully get rid of all the bugs and see if they reappear.

Are they like, baby gnats or something? Weird.

I wonder if its the pearl white? I have a pearl white 240sx that constantly gets covered in dead gnats. But its generally when parked at night, I think they are attracted to the reflections and then die on the paint =/

I was discussing this with my co-workers and the best we could come up with is they might be "Thrips"? They aren't gnats, because they don't fly around. Just crawling all over the place, like ants. If I blow on them, they don't even move or fly away. I'm hoping they can't get in the car by squeezing through the seals, there's that many of them.

That would be my concern too, getting inside.
I dont have the same problem as you but ive owned numerous white cars and do find dead bugs on the hood and trunk occasionally.
Sometimes for that very reason I wish I went with grey/silver/black.
