I'm sure a few people may have seen my tuning results on our bone stock 6MT X a few days ago: http://blog.vittuned.com/project-civic-x-begins/

Well I couldn't wait and finally got high octane in there. Still bone stock. I was cut short and feel like I could of made quite a bit more torque still -- but the software/ecu wasn't letting me increase boost any further (although the turbo can do it, I know it).

Results, stock vs high octane:

I was stuck at 19psi, with a small spike to 20psi. On our car the ECU/FP wouldn't let me command more. I'm looking into it and we'll figure it out.

I tried adjusting my above 19-20psi too and it wasn't taking it either

eDyno pulls on the street. Red is 87 octane tuned, grey is high octane tuned. #'s are of course a bit higher because the IAT's were 50-60* instead of 100* post intercooler (I would heat soak the intercooler on the dyno).

The huge blip in the grey graphs -- the clutch is slipping. So we know what's going to give first... we'll see. The car only has 260 miles on it, so maybe the clutch will come back kicking after I'm nice to it for a while.

That's pretty damn awesome Vit especially on 87.E10 87 octane going to perform better than straight 87?

E10 does better in DI turbo, it has a cooling effect in the combustion chamber.

A lot of guys use an E85 mix on the GTI and the F30 series BMW. 4 gallons of E85, then fill up with 93. Only if you're tuned for it, but it makes tremendous power.

Correct, DI benefits from ethanol quite a bit more than PI motors at low quantities. However they use the 10% that's in the 87 octane to get you 87 octane to begin with. So you're not going to see a big difference between 87 octane non eth and 87 octane with 10%. A bit more charge cooling with the eth, maybe. However, I wouldn't go out looking for non ethanol fuel just for the MPG benefits... ethanol in such low amounts has virtually no impact on MPG's.
