add a touch of toe in will help with straight line stability.

Pardon my ignorance, what do you mean by "a touch of toe in"?
A little "Toe in" helps with straight line stability. Too much toe-in will increase understeer and wear out tires quickly. Toe-out helps with initial turn in, but makes the car more "twitchy" on a straight line. Too much toe out also contributes to increased tire wear.

The factory alignment toe range is pretty wide and you can set it closer to the Toe-in setting to see if it helps stabilize the car better.
