Sport Hatchback Battery Size?

Does anyone know the size of the Sport Hatchback battery? I'm trying to find an Optima Gold top. But, according to their website, they don't have one that fits. I'm getting slight headlight dimming and would like to replace the battery.

It should be this one since the batteries are the same in the sedans/coupe models. Battery type is D51R I just replaced mine with an XS Power battery for the same reason.

It fits with a small adjustment to the tray. @josby helped explain to to me how to do it in this thread. I highly recommend the XS Power battery because for about 20 more dollars you get more power and in my opinion it is a better quality battery.

got a free Optima yellowtop battery (feb 16 manuf. date) from a buddy who is parting out. he got my battery from 1 month old 17 hatch sport

Be careful of some of these battery replacements designed for bass heavy car audio. Problem 1 is that all too many of them do NOT like to be charged above 14V, problem 2 is that a battery is just another load once the car is started - unless you are drawing more than the alt can sustain.

I read on a different forum that a d35 would fit (at least in Canadian models) but I had no such luck today. could be pretty easily done but the one i picked up from autozone was $290 after the core charge and like 15 minutes after buying it i got a code for $50 off if i bought a 51r online. so returned the 35, and installed the stock size (saved like $90 compared to the 35).

Ill let you know how it goes. I went this route because i have to leave my car parked in the Ohare surface lot for weeks on end when i travel for work. the OEM battery was always flat unless i put a solar charger on it. Even then with my dash cam i only got maybe a day or two at most of recording before it shut off at 11v.

**UPDATE*** 11 April 2019
So far the factory sized yellow top battery is working great. the Dash cam seems to be running for days on end without shutting off or killing the battery. Earlier today i had the car on but not running for about a half hour while i hacked the head unit, and uploaded a base tune to the ECU.

Well worth the price.

Yesthe 51r fits with no modifications. Just need to wiggle it a bit to get it in.
