I woke up this morning to find a spider stuck in the upper hatch part of the tail light. Any ideas on what I can do to get the damn spider out?25F6A56B-05B3-46B0-B9A8-9A0EBFC3ED4B.jpeg

Take it to the dealer, if they can't remove it they will likely replace it under warranty.

I’ve had one in the tail light of our ‘07 Forester for easy 10 years now.
    Serves him right for exploring.
    Makes a great conversation piece.

I’m at the dealer right now and they immediately told me it would not be able to be replaced under warranty because it didn’t come like that from the factory. They said they’ll try to blow it out but they can’t replace it under warranty.

Wow, that's pretty surprising. It would stand to reason, if it can't be removed, that the light should be sealed better from the factory to prevent it from occurring.

Yeah they told me it has two small vents in it for moisture purposes. They managed to blow the spider with air to the under part of the housing but they couldn’t get it out. I just got to another dealer to see if they can do a better job.

Well this dealership would not even attempt anything without me paying a labor fee just to take it off and try to do it. So I guess I have to live with this spider in it.

    So many questions...

    How does this happen?!
Where is are these ventilation holes in the taillights...and why is it do big that spiders/bugs can fit through it?
