I'm looking to buy a spare tire kit for my CTR. I was curious on where everyone bought theirs & what does a spare kit cost?

I bought mine from Delray Honda and picked up the parts. It cost me about 304 dollars after tax.

Please note the kit comes in two part numbers, one is the tire (and needs to be mounted) and the other is the wheel, and other parts. It is very important to note, the kit comes with a NEW TRUNK LINER to raise the bed of the trunk up in order for the spare tire to fit completely. I did NOT like this so I did not install the new trunk liner.

Part numbers are:

Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total
06421-TGH-A02ZA Temporary Kit *NH900L* (Deep Black) $129.79 1 $129.79
42751-CTL-031 Tire, Temporary (T125/70R18) (99M) (Continental) $154.90 1 $154.90

I left prices that I paid so you do not get gouged... try to find a dealer that sells your parts online for cheap and you can pick them up and not pay for shipping.

Edit: Here is the schematic for the trunk liner and what pieces come with it:

Please note that #4 is the tire part number listed above.

Called around & the parts kit is on factory back order. Looks like $350 + taxes for everything once it becomes available. Jeremiah thanks for the info !

This is what I was told by Delray Honda when I purchased it. I got it within 2 days of placing my order.

Show them this... see if they will price match it:

Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total
06421-TGH-A02ZA Temporary Kit *NH900L* (Deep Black) $129.79 1 $129.79
42751-CTL-031 Tire, Temporary (T125/70R18) (99M) (Continental) $154.90 1 $154.90

Subtotal: $284.69
Local Pickup: Free
Tax: $19.93
Total: $304.62

I paid 304.62 after taxes for mine.

I did not like the idea of the new liner either and pay $300+ plus a spare tire was not an option to me so I got a RL spare tire for $17 in my local junkyard. It wont fit in the front because does not clear the Brembos but if the flat tire is at front I’ll switch it for one of the back ones and use the spare at the back.

Hey mine was (T125/70R18) not 17, although I'm sure 17 would work.
My spare tire kit was 06421-TGH-A32ZA not 06421-TGH-A02ZA?
I do have a spare tires from a Acura RL not the one for the Type R.

Great idea! I probably should have thought about this lol.... But side note... You will be required to use two jacks..... I have two jacks in my car, however, in this Florida Heat, forget it. I wasn't about that life.

I wouldn't use a 17 inch wheel on the front (won't clear the Brembo I wager) and I wouldn't want a 17 inch if you are running 20 inch wheels, unless the spare tire compensates for that... of which I doubt it would.

You probably couldn't go faster than 40 MPH if all 3 other wheels are 20 inches. It's probably not too safe.

Well..... I got to use my Spare Tire today...

I put it on the front because I will only be driving about 30 miles before I get it fixed... that and the mosquitos in Florida were eating me alive, otherwise I would have rotated tires to the front..

Wow perfect timing. I may need to look into getting one of these.. have also contemplated carrying a full size OEM spare for long trips.

Did you say we need (2) scissor jacks to raise the car to switch tires?
