After a lot if thought, I decided to go full size spare for long out of town trips and track days
( not ready for track rim's and tires yet) and go with the existing compressor sealing unit, or AAA
Found nice type R rim on ebay and bought a new tire
Also found correct Jack on ebay, I think it came from a Acura, it had the same part number as the type R

I would be curious how one secures a full size wheel/tire and then still have adequate room for the long trip? Don't forget you probably need to get the OEM jack unless you have another option in mind.

just got my spare tire kit today. honestly thinking about just strapping the spare in the trunk and leaving the lower false floor. I feel like I will keep more space this way. all the tools fit in the bag and the jack has a spot. I am also keeping the inflator kit in its stowed spot too. just feel like the raised floor wastes space.

This is what I did.

You don’t need the foam insert for the spare tire to hold the tools. Just use the black bag provided with the kit and replace the original bag that’s tucked away in the drivers side compartment that holds the jack. The floor is now about an inch lower than if you had used the foam tire insert. I still went with the higher false floor, I just cut an inch off of the floor risers. Also when you put the jack in the drivers side compartment make sure you twist the jack open enough to securely wedge it in place to prevent any rattling.

Finally got my spare tire kit. Seems mine is a tad different than other posters here as the passenger side has an extra flap similar to the drivers side but it prevents one from laying the piece flat. It reminds me of the type R rubber mat that has that little flap/pocket looking thing that I've always folded down. Not sure what the deal is with that. Well since I folded that down it makes it easier to expose the subwoofer. And I can fold the rubber mat flap into that crease Other than that the install was easy. My only concern is there is a lot of empty space around the tire so I definitely wouldn't go walking on the board. Best to keep things weight evenly distributed.

Just like the rubber mat, you need to trim a little off the right side if the carpeted floor. US CTR models come with the woofer so the rubber mat or floor must be trimmed to fit.

Sorry, not to beat a dead horse about the spare tire kit, why is it when I put in the Honda Part number numerous site come up that this spare tire kit also fits other non-Type R Civics when they are a smaller bolt pattern and I assume offset due to the Brembo brakes?

The listing is incorrect. The Type R kit is specific to only the Type R, no interchange. If you go back and read, here and other threads, Honda has had a number of issues getting this kit correct.
