Ktuner here, running the 19.5/23 base tune for a few months now. All I can say, is it is worth every penny. The car is like a tightly wound spring that you release. When your all seasons are breaking loose all the way to 80mph in Sport Mode, you will thank me.
I think you need new tires

Yes I mentioned I have the stock all seasons. They still have plenty of tread left. Only 8000 miles on them properly rotated. Getting them to break loose all the way to 80mph with the 19.5/23 base tune, sport mode on, is quite common.

Just a FYI for those who may not know.......If you use a tuner on your ride it WILL void the warranty if you have any engine issues or clutch issues.
Carry on....:D

So I have been wanting the Ktuner. When you say the "19.5/23 base tune" does that mean the boost is increased to 19.5 in Normal mode, and to 23 in Sport mode? And I think I've read that this is probably the maximum the stock clutch can handle, right?
I've been running the kTuner w/ the 19.5/23 base tune and experienced clutch slip very shortly afterwards. I know lots of people on here run this tune and say it's fine but for how long really? I actually can't wait to upgrade my clutch so I can fully use all the extra power. Also tires. The stock all seasons are not good.

Did you conpletely turned off the VSA? I have TSP tune stage 1, but never break loose all the way to 80mph.. but i never try the pedal dance to turn it off

I just drove the car lol. Didn’t turn anything off. I had my friend in the car who witnessed the whole thing.

It was actually above 80 mph when the tires grabbed. I had a friend in the car with me. It took us both by surprise. No reason to lie about it. I’m passed the age where I care what other people think or have the need to brag about something that didn’t happen.

What?
How!?

My VSA would kicks in after few chirp
I’m not talking from a dead stop launch. I’m saying if I’m doing a rolling start, say from like 40mph, the tires will break loose all the way to at least 80mph, well into 4th gear.

A tuner will certainly make a healthy difference, but in my opinion it stills feel flat on top compared to the way it builds power in the mid. In other words, its a long haul from 4500-6500 compared to 2500-4500. Everything else being stock that is. the dyno charts show this as does the more official seat of the pants dyno.

That's so true, above 4.5k i don't feel anything, unless i release the throttle, and floor it again.

Probably because the small turbo just efficient at low rpm.

I mean, look at the torque curve

I have tsp stage 2 which has significantly more torque then you and there is no chance of me breaking tires loose at that speed. We aren’t driving 400 whp hatches here. Roads would have to be wet to spin tires at that speed. I’m well above the age as well, but let’s be reasonable here, the ktuner base 23psi puts you at 208whp / 258tq. That’s not gonna break tires loose in 4th gear on the roads unless their wet.
Of course it’s an improvement over stock, but telling people to expect that is unrealistic
