That's awesome Eric, but now we want to hear all about your impressions and a comparison.

What qualms did you have about your '19 Si / What made you want to trade to the Type R? Also if you don't mind, how did you make out on the trade? :p

Did you take a big hit on the si? I always dabble on the idea of trading in my 2018 si for a R. I owe 16k on it, itā€™s full bolt on with ethanol, enkei nt03 wheels etc.. 13k miles. I pay $389/ month for 60 month.
I wouldnā€™t track the car, i would only drive spirited. Just not sure if it would make sense to justify losing a bunch of mpg for 30ish more hp, and a way bigger car payment.

Obviously the CTR has more power....it's really linear. I think they ride very similar. I am not a fan of the look of a 4dr, but it is more practical. I got 33mpg today on the highway instead of 40mpg in the Si. The shifter is nice. No blind spot camera or heated seats. The seats hold you in better.

I go through cars really often, this is number 136.

The biggest issue with the Si is the short 2nd gear. Otherwise it's a great car.

I've only had 29 in 30 years of driving! A year is about as long as I can stand to own a personal vehicle. The ones I really like I keep longer, but the ones I really hate are gone after a few months. Fortunately, being an auto writer allows me to satisfy my craving to drive a variety of vehicles.

Eh, your Si is sick dude. I'd say keep it for as long as you can then if you're in a better place financially maybe go for an R?
