Small piece of metal fell off the back left of the car

So pretty much I had a flat tier a few days ago. Drove a bit in it (I know, didn't realise and no warning from the car system). Anyways, fast forward a few days after fixing it, I hear a rattling at the back left (passenger side) of the car. Anyways, the image uploaded is the part that fell off. Anyone know what its used for?

Any help is appreciated! The dealers are all closed till' Monday.

you should examine the walls of the wheel area, see if there are any holes or piercing caused by this object. It looks 99% like half of a scissor and you must've driven over it. The wheel the went over it probably shot it to the car's body and it just stuck there for a while until now.
