I'm looking to get the Mishimoto metal weighted shift knob, I noticed it was on amazon along with 2 other adapter like parts, and was not sure if I needed either to make sure the boot stays in place.

I haven't installed a shift knob before but I've had this style shifter in a previous vehicle. I just wanted to know if i would need any thing else to install this type of shifter properly.

If it is weighted, it's very minimal. I find it's grip to be great for either style shifting and, for me, it smoothed out the gearbox feel. It's temp neutral too.

The adapters are kinda soft though, so if you want to change after installing, use something padded or a towel to prevent damage to the threads

Just received this beautiful thing yesterday.

How do you like it? Thats a raceseng prolix right? I have one in the textured finish. I think it looks great in the translucent finish, good choice. I didn't like the feel so much on the stock shifter. Honestly, between the size and the weight, it felt like i was rowing a boat The weight also overpowers the stock shifter mechanism and it felt pretty numb. I just picked up the acuity adjustible shifter and this shift knob is awesome with it. The acuity shifter is stiff and precise and the weight and size of this shift knob becomes an asset to a good experience.

I love it. Before, I'd switch knobs every few weeks. Haven't taken this one off yet. It fits perfectly in my hand. The OEM one was way too small, the skunk 2 was much better but not tall enough for me. This one is perfect.
