View attachment 135806 When the Polar Vortex moved in, I banished all metal from my shift knobs and ordered this from Super-Klasse.com. It has great weight, and uses quality leather. I made a slight modification in order to re-attach the boot. View attachment 135806

I'm in the process of painting my OEM knob so for the time being I tossed in my Mugen CF knob out of my CRX which doesn't see winter. I'm now worried I like it too much. May have just sold myself on the 6-speed version with the red stripe. They are not cheap though...

Today's test will be to see how cold it gets to the hand when parked for 8 hours at -12C.

OK Guys I'm OUT - was always a bit concerned about the 1.5L Turbo engine sourced from Taiwan with a Manual sourced from India - traded for a 2019 Acura ILX A-Spec with NON-turbo 2.4L K24V7 engine and Dual-clutch Auto - from Japan - with car and engine made in USA......good luck

That's great and all, but why did you post it in the shift knob thread? lol

I'm confused why, if it ever mattered, you would buy the only Civic not built in North America then. Evidently the hatchback factor wasn't a deal breaker if you ended up with an ILX. Just my 2 cents.

You know - it seems like the only THREAD I can get into - and - as far as the Civic HB..... it was brilliant - for ME - but no-one else including my Wife knows HOW to properly drive Manuals so I took the logical route with a NON-turbo Auto - really Damn Nice car

Wow that looks fantastic. That is exactly what I've been looking for! What modification did you have to make to reattach the boot? We're there any other install issues?

The OEM boot collar can still be used beneath the new shifter, but it needs some space in order for the boot to securely lock on. I chose a metal locking nut (the type with a nylon insert) so everything would stay tight down there. That's the only mod needed.

outside looks pretty good on those but the interior has always been ancient, even on the 2019s. step backwards interior wise, but grats

I like the looks of it as well for the most part, but the fact that it's based on the previous gen civic is a big letdown, considering the new platform is so good. If it was the current platform, even with the 2.4 I likely would have considered it over my Si. That whole dual stack infotainment system seems awful as well, but IDK. Usually manufacturers create new platforms for their luxury lines that trickle down to their mainstream brand, but not in this case for whatever reason. .... also that single exhaust tip is just silly. I'm not one for things like quad exhaust tips on a 4 banger, but that thing is just pathetic looking.

As someone who owned a current gen TLX before trading it back in for an Si, the dual screen infotainment was a huge PIA. The single screen infotainment in the civic is miles above Acura's.

The 2019 NSX even has the civic infotainment screen. :D

Thanks to cekIV’s recommendation I bought the superklasse shifter. It works great with the suggested lockingnut.

The knob is a bit bigger and significantly heavier than stock but feels great to the touch. I love that the red stitching matches the rest of the interior.

I was wasn’t looking forward to the upcoming California summer heat with exposed metal in the stock shifter so this will be pretty thermally neutral. Also the few cold mornings have been no problem with the new shifter. Happy camper!
