2020 Si, have about 550 miles on it. Noticing the shift knob vibrates a little in 3rd gear, and especially in 5th at exactly 2000 RPMs. Is this a normal thing?
Thanks

I have a 2020 Si with a little over 4k miles on it and mine has not vibrated in any kind of way that was noticeable. However, I can't say that there is something wrong just because it is vibrating either. How bad is it vibrating? Can you feel or physically see it vibrating, or is it just making a noise? I've heard vibrations that I thought were coming somewhere from the shifter area but it turned out to be something I placed nearby, like in the cup holder or in the tray under my head unit, rattling a little and the noise would go away if I removed whatever it was.

Nobody should have their hand resting long/hard enough on the shifter to notice vibration (in otherwords you may be creating the issue). Shift it and take your hand off. If its that noticeable then take it in. Just be sure your certain enough there is a problem before taking a 600 mile car into a service department.

So I think I’ve figured it out. I didn’t really notice it before because typically when I’m shifting in to 5th it drops to about 2500 rpm’s, and it didn’t vibrate. But if I shift earlier and it drops to 2k it will vibrate. I’m just touching the shift knob, but can feel it vibrate at that point. I believe the reason is while in 5th gear it’s pulled up tight against the frame of the shifting mechanism. If I pull it away just a hair the vibration goes away completely.

Make sure you are not lugging your engine, which would cause vibration. If you are driving below 50 mph you should go into 4th. You should keep your engine in the optimal RPM range which is around 2500 rpm. I would always stay in 5th cruising between 50 and 65 mph

There is an investigation going on in honda concerning clutch chatter below 2k rpm on the manual 2020. Found out from @jacobegg who works at honda.

That being said, i haven't experienced any vibration in my 5400 miles

This should be a sticky.
