Every now and then I head over to iaai.com and do a quick search for Civic Type R. It's always sad but also interesting to see totaled and insurance-owned Type Rs. Some totaled CTRs come through looking gnarly, not just from damage, but just general modifications that were done by the owners prior to accidents as well. Over the years, seeing all the totaled CTRs on these bidding websites, I wonder what percentage of US-sold CTRs are totaled. Anyway, here's a quick search if you want to take a look at the current "RIP CTR" list:

A totaled vehicle typically will have a salvage title instead of a normal one. That said, the blue one looks somewhat nice, but the estimated repair cost makes me think it's more than just body work (suspension and possibly frame?).

I often wonder this as well for I see many posts on social media of these cars totaled. I feel in a few years, much like the S2k (and other affordable sports cars in its time) it will be hard to find one of these cars kept stock, maintained AND with a clean title.
