Try turning the defouler in 2 turns.

I do not have a shorter defouler. Looks like the untuned people might have to use a bunch of tricks get no CEL. It seems every car is different. Our test car is still problem free with the original defouler.

Update. Since the temp rose above 60F the CEL went away. It was definitely below 50F when it came on, and humidity was indeed high. We'll see over the coming months, and summer time, if higher temps have any other adverse effects. My inspection is in August, so hopefully not.

Just to supplement and keep all factors in one post, I have the K&N Intake with KTuner basemap tune, Stage 2 Throttle Response, running 93 octane.

My P0420 came back on again yesterday, it was around 58 degrees and was a clear-ish day. Didn't rain or anything, but I think there was some humidity. Added another washer/spacer, but after this I won't be able to fit any more on the threading while still being able to tighten securely. Hope it works this time lol.

My CEL has been off since it rose above 60F. And stayed off even when it got down into the 40's last couple nights. Low humidity. No rain.

Mine keeps going on for P0420 and i have given up trying to figure out if anything is related to making it happen. I requested a spacer from Rv6 over the weekend and they shipped it Monday. so once i get it, i'll put it on and see if it works.

Started raining again, backed out of the garage, and boom. CEL. Temp above 60F.

    Humidity is doing something weird.

Just checking in, has anyone had a chance to dyno the 2.0 with a ktuner and catted downpipe? I'd really like to have some numbers before dropping so much cash on the downpipe.

The humidity is probably throwing off the cars AFR a little bit.

I've been able to keep the P0420 off for 2 weeks so far using two 14 Gauge (.083") washers. Only one washer lasted me a little over 2 weeks before P0420 came on, so I added a second.

P0420 came back on a few days ago. If it exists, I would like to locate an extra short spacer since there isn't enough threading to properly secure it with any additional washers.

@RV6 (or anyone else who would know) do you know what the thread size is for the defouler/spacers? Would like to try and find the shortest spacer available.

Thanks for reporting back in. The spacer rv6 provided to me still had P0420 come up, at 168 miles the 1st time and then again after just 12 miles. I then left the spacer on and disabled P0420 in Ktuner but at 78 miles i got P0139. I took the spacer off and left P0420 disabled now i'm waiting to see if P0139 comes back with out the spacer. I'm close to 200 miles.

I have low hopes of finding a way to get no CEL with out having to disable sensors in Ktuner. Which sucks for the catted version. Cause now its gonna make getting my emissions test a gamble since it can come on at any given time. Still willing to deal with all that though since the gain in performance can't be ignored.

The thread size is M18x1.5 did I ever send you a short straight defouler?

The install is pretty simple you can always swap back to stock for testing. These newer platforms are very sensitive, lots of tweaking is needed. What surprises me is that test car hasn't been having issues with CEL. Is anyone having issues running the stock intake?

Thanks, and yes you did but even the short defouler still flagged the P0139 which is why I'm seeking the shortest defouler possible (if a shorter one even exists).

So... two weeks of no CEL. It was on for about a month then randomly wasn't when I turned on the car. It's been freezing, raining, sunny, all of the above, no flags. *shrug*
