nice write up, from R&T about the CTR. They compare it to a pair of Japanese only sport cars, 370Z and STI...... they pretty much loved the R. The numbers are slightly less than what C&D got, but still pretty impressive

"neither the 370Z nor the STI can match it for pace, either on track or street."

Kinda wish they had a focus RS to compare it to.
The STI and the RS perform very similar (acceleration wise). The stated additional horsepower that the RS has is lost somewhere. Maybe the RS is rated at seahorse power.

This means that the TypeR will eat it specially on a roll race.

I love how the TypeR pulls away when the mph keep getting higher and higher. Is a good highway killer.

This is great news. The Type R has set the bar higher which means Subaru will be working on something better than the TypeR and if Ford decides to bring the RS back then they will also be working on a new chassis and engine. It is truly a great time to be an enthusiast. I am really hoping Honda takes everything on this Civic and throws it to Acura for a TLX-TypeS.

acceleration is similar but if you've ever driven both, RS is in a whole another level dynamically behind the wheel.

@Boostlag when are you expecting your CTR?
its showing in transit so anyday now. I was told they were selling theirs for msrp first come first serve, missed out on the first car. I asked to pay for the car and get all the paper work done before the car arrived and I'm getting the run around. I'm not that hopeful I'd get it.

The braking and skidpad performance figures are seriously good, especially considering all of these cars are equipped with the same class of tires - max performance summer tires. It's not like the Civic is using cheater tires like the Michelin Sport Cup 2.

Something seems a little off with the acceleration numbers. How is it that the CTR has the same 0-60 as the STI (5.1), it traps higher (106.3 vs 102.7), but has a slower 1/4 time (13.7 vs 13.5)? Usually that 1/4mile would only make sense if the 0-60 was slower; otherwise I'd expect the 1/4 time to be considerably faster than the STI.
