For every clean JDM/Tuner I saw there, there was just as many "ricers" except in Japan they are accepted by car culture and not mocked as much as they are here:


Itasha and Bosozoku cars (at least the clean ones) get a pass from me since they are something culturally unique to Japan, but they would 1000% be labeled as rice in the US:

I would, but the definition of a riced up car is that the owner is trying to make it appear that it is fast when it really isn't. The CTR may look silly, but it is actually fast... really fast, therefore it doesn't meet the definition of a riced up car

On my way to work this morning I saw a riced up Hyundai scoupe remember those. By the time I tried to take a picture of it I was already pulling in the parking lot. It had a big wing on it

While I appreciate this car and its homage to Senna, but man this has gotta be the ugliest Mclaren put out there. Definitely not the looker the original F1 is

Ha, that was my point. Neither this nor the CTR are winning any beauty awards but they're both amazing machines.

Oh yes, both amazing machines! But the underlying body shape on both Senna and R are just not pleasing to the eye. I happen to like the crazy cartoon like appendages to these cars because they aid in its purpose; track stars.
My idea of beauty mixed with purpose would be along the lines of the original Mclaren F1 and original/current NSX. That Mclaren F1 was a dominant force on the public roads and tracks for years. I wonder why they haven’t brought that incredible design back?
