Side marker bulb on my 1.5T burnt out.

I took the bulb+housing out. See attached picture.

How do I remove the bulb from that housing/socket? Can it be removed? This sounds dumb, but I tried careful and gentle pulling out but that did not work.

According to a parts fiche from Toronto Honda parts the bulb and the housing/socket are separate parts that can be bought. So I guess it can be removed and just the bulb replaced.

I searched Youtube and the forum, but all the posts are about switching to clear lenses and not replacing the actual bulb.

So, how do I get the bulb out if I can?

It look a one piece bulb with housing, you'll have to buy all the unit IMO

Best is to ask in Issues Repair sub forum , not in Maitenance, oil....

It will come out. Don't be scared, just wiggle and pull it.

Thank you all

The bulb wouldn't easily come out of the socket.

So I wrapped California clayaround the bulb and used pliers to try and wiggle it out.

I wrapped more clay, intentionally shattered the bulb, and pulled the base of the bulb out of the socket. The clay caught all the shattered glass neatly. :D

Going to get a new bulb now.

Indeed it needed to be pulled out, but for whatever reason this one didn't even come out with moderate force.

On new car some bulb may not work because of kind of "oxidation "between the contacts of the bulb and the socket.
Cleaning contacts may fix the issue.. After plug in place with a drop of WD40
Check your old bulb with a meter to see if it is good or not

It is hapened to me twice on same bulb until I use this recipe.

Interesting. My bulb was smoked grey. I'm not sure if that's what the OEM bulb looks like or if it just violently burned out lol.

Yes every bulb that burns out turns grey. It’s not normally grey. You don’t need a meter to figure that out.

Replaced the bulb with a stock bulb I got from the dealership and noticed how much brighter it burns compared to the factory bulb.

Dealer charged $3.50 CDN for the Philips brand bulb which is reasonable if you ask me. Could not find a decent brand name bulb at any local store so stuck to what the dealer offered.
