Took me a couple months, but I got around to putting Rain-X on all my windows.
While I was at it, I thought, hey, the water droplets that collect on the rearview camera while driving in the rain make it hard as hell to see anything.... why not dab some Rain-X on the camera lens?
It works! Works really well, actually. Had some rainy days after that (DC set a record for rainfall in July) and never had a problem with water drops distorting the camera's view.
EDIT.... It kinda works. Must have been a fluke earlier. I'll see if I smudged the Rain-X by hand since the last rainy drive. See pics.
If I had planned ahead, I'd have some before-and-after photos of the camera's video...
