Question about CVT transmission versus traditional automatic

As a person who's driven only manuals or traditional automatics until I picked up a Civic CVT, the transmissions are great. I still prefer traditional automatics but the CVT in these civics are drone free, dont really have that rubber band feel and are great for driving around town. Cant go wrong with it.

It took me a while to get use to it coming from a Elantra with a 6 speed automatic . I was driving a coworker home from work my place of employment is right on the highway so you have to up to speed pretty quickly. He thought my civic was stuck in gear I explain how the transmission worked. I don’t feel that simulated shift in drive only in sport mode is this good or bad
