A few questions for the Civicologists out there:
1) Is the CTR hood made of aluminum? Is it just the outer skin, or is the entire part made of aluminum?
2) What are the weight savings compared to the steel hoods that other Civics use?
3) Is the shape of the CTR hood a match for the shape of the steel Civic hoods? (The CTR obviously has very different front fenders, but the hood itself seems to be the same basic shape.)
4) Besides the preparation and painting of the part, how extensive a project would it be to fit an OEM Type-R hood on an Si coupe? (What modifications to the supporting hardware would be necessary?)
5) Has anyone done this already?

I think I remember seeing a couple guys having done this on their Si, but I can't verify that with 100% certainty. I would think the fitment would be the same, but wondering if the weight saving and painting costs would justify such a mod. Definitely following!

Eman has done this on his Si Sedan. It is full aluminum, guess it fits good, just have to mess around with the latch mechanism, as they are different slightly.

To make this work on the standard Civic's. you need to cut the latch on the hood and move it back about 3"~4"... not for the casual moder to do:confused1:
@k20z3allmotor might be able to explain what he did to his sedan on more detail:hmm::dunno:

Well honestly unless you're going to autocross it would look cool, but ehh
Kind a like the STI RA with the CF wing and roof... not much of a weight savings compared to the regular STI. If I'm not mistaking one of the biggest things they also removed from the RA is the spare tire, they gave the RA a tire kit like we have.

I'd imagine that for any other color than Blue, Black or Red (shared colors), you'd also need to have the hood resprayed.

That ctr hood is so damn light. It shocked me the first time I lifted one.

3” to 4” sounds a lot, but what do I know. Still nobody sharing some lights?

I’ll go for the cf hood though like everyone is saying unless you come across one fk8 stock hood that matches your color.
