After seeing significant gains and popularity with our Stage 1 intake system for the 1.5T Civic platform we decided to offer a similar intake solution for the 2017 FK8 Civic Type-R. These intake kits will come standard with high flow 4-ply silicone hose (choice of color), drop-in high-flow filter and stainless clamps/hardware. Pricing, ETA and performance data will be released shortly

Prototype silicone arrived earlier this week! We are hoping to have our drop-in high flow filters finished sometime towards the end of next week, which means that we can begin testing! :)

We installed our prototype Stage 1 intake earlier today to test fitment before gather data. Though everything went together smoothly we are going to be making one final revision for optimal fitment on the production piece. Dyno results and data coming soon!

The long awaited Stage 1 Intake System results for the FK8 Civic Type-R are finally available! We used our 2017 shop car for testing. Our shop car is equipped with our intercooler, downpipe and front pipe with stock ECU map.

All dyno runs were started in 4th gear and ambient temperature was 88 degrees during testing.

We saw increased spool, 8 hp and 5 ft/lb tq gains at peak and throughout the midrange where coolant temps started at 195 degrees during the beginning of the pull.

We saw increased spool, 3 - 4 hp and 1 - 2 ft/lb tq gains at peak and 5 – 10 hp throughout the midrange where coolant temps started at 199 degrees during the beginning of the pull.

Notice that there are significant gains down low around 2500 RPM in the powerband and dips around 4500 RPM. The logs show that the car wants to overshoot target boost due to the increased airflow, but the computer then pulls back wastegate duty, which reduces boost/power for a brief period of time. A car with custom tuning would show even greater gains here with target boost increased as the car breathes much easier with the upgraded intake system.

We plan to back this data up with a local car that is completely stock

    Kits Include:
    • (1) 4-ply Silicone Hose
    • (4) Stainless Hose Clamps
    • (1) Billet Evap Flange
    • (1) High Flow Drop-In Air Filter

Both the Eventuri and our silicone hose utilize the same attachment points/diameters, so this should fit without any issues.

@PRL Motorsports Does this work with the aFe intake? Will it add the gains mentioned, to the gains already made by that intake?

    Thanks!

Stage 1 Intake Systems for the 2017+ Civic Type-R and 2018+ 2.0T Accord are finally available for pre-order! Customers can purchase our silicone hose kit (with hardware) and high-flow air filter together or separately. The pre-order sale will end once orders begin shipping!

Silicone hose kits are scheduled to begin shipping within a few days of the original 10/15 ETA. Filter ETA is 11/5, so filters and complete Stage 1 kits will be available for shipping at the same time! :)

Slim to none for BEFORE 10/15. Silicone, clamps and boxes are hear to package everything up. Our billet bungs are getting sent out to anodizing Thursday, so once these come back orders will begin shipping. Orders will begin shipping within a few days of the original 10/15 ETA.

No chance, AFE's intake tube connects to the metal crossover pipe.

@PRL Motorsports where can I find the instructions for installing the normal civic stage 1? Can’t find anything and box didn’t include instructions. Also the 1.5t is compatible with the Si right?

We did not provide instructions as it is a fairly easy install for both the 1.5T Civic and Type R.

Remove the clamps from the stock piece, the two on the ends and the two on the top.
    Remove the two evap bolts
Install the new anodized bung and two smaller clamps on top
Install Silicone using the previous steps in reverse.
