After seeing significant gains and popularity with our Stage 1 intake system for the 1.5T Civic platform we decided to offer a similar intake solution for the 2017 FK8 Civic Type-R. These intake kits will come standard with high flow 4-ply silicone hose (choice of color), drop-in high-flow filter and stainless clamps/hardware. Pricing, ETA and performance data will be released shortly

Prototype silicone arrived earlier this week! We are hoping to have our drop-in high flow filters finished sometime towards the end of next week, which means that we can begin testing! :)

    Nice!
@PRL Motorsports Are you still developing a Cold Air Intake for the Type R? I see it on your website as being In Development, just seeing if that is still the case.

Very interested! Wondering how the CAI would operate on the FK8 with the vent opening being where it is on bumper where filter would sit. Any estimate on gains with the stage 1?

Will we get a larger MAF housing? :)

Wouldn't they have to design a whole new MAF?

No, you'd just need to tune the ECU to handle the signal appropriately.

However, PRL's CAD drawing above shows the stock MAF housing, and PRL said that it was going to be a Stage 1 system (silicone hose + an air filter).

Then what are the MAF components going to attach to if you don't design an entire unit?

The same MAF sensor can be bolted to a different diameter pipe.

We installed our prototype Stage 1 intake earlier today to test fitment before gather data. Though everything went together smoothly we are going to be making one final revision for optimal fitment on the production piece. Dyno results and data coming soon!

The Stage 1 system will be utilizing the stock MAF housing. We have some big plans coming up for our CAI system that we think will be a game changer! ;)

Will the stage 1 work with the CAI or will it be a separated system?
