So we've been working on some things lately for the 1.5L Turbo platform... Yes, this will fit both the Si and Non-Si chassis.

Just in case anyone has missed it, we recently performed a Type-R turbo swap on our shop's Civic Si for R&D purposes with @KTuner and @VitViper. You can read about this swap and our findings HERE!

Our goal is to offer a bolt-on, no cutting required, 550+ whp capable turbo kit, and plan to test the limits of the stock L15B7 engine along the way. Yes, 550+ whp will require upgraded engine internals for longevity. However, we expect to find a reliable power level between 300-400 whp that stock internal engines can handle. This larger turbo will shift the torque/powerband to the right, aiding in reliability for the stock internals.

Here's a sneak peak with we've come up with so far, but we can't let the entire cat out of the bag yet! Stay tuned! ;)

Very nice.... wanting to know more about how your guys are going to implement the electronic wastegate into the design.. or will this have some other form of control similar to the factory one?:hmm:

Can't wait to see this thing released into the wild! I certainly will be jumping on board and I think that power range on stock internals is going to work excellent on this platform! Love what you guys do!

We have a few tricks up our sleeve here, just trying to keep them under wraps for the time being. ;)

Thank you, that means a lot! This will make for a VERY fun FWD car.

That's about what the old K20's would handle on stock internals but of course they were heavier duty in the bottom end. How far along are you guys on the bottom end stuff?

@davemarco it's probably taking a bit for that built block to be finished. Savage response tho

Odd... those GTX2860R dyno charts look strangely like a brake kit.

:hmm:
 That was the best response. EVER.

So the GTX2860R GEN2 is on and driving around, we just haven't quite got around to strapping it on the dyno. The ultimate goal is to try and have the car double-checked on the dyno to offer numbers for you guys and then get her ready for a few runs at the track before tearing out and putting in the built motor.

We've been receiving quite a few inquiries about Race MAF gains in comparison to the Street MAF housing so we decided to do another back-to-back test for you guys.

This car was equipped with our Cobra CAI, downpipe, front pipe and @KTuner 23 PSI 93 Octane basemap for testing.

Honda Civic 10th gen PRL Motorsports Civic X 1.5T Product Development Eric%20Street%20MAF_zpsjsgpfj6l

We performed 3 consecutive dyno pulls with the Street MAF housing starting at 175 degree coolant temps to around 180 degrees. The car put down similar consistent numbers within a 3 horsepower and 4 ft/lb tq window.

We performed 3 consecutive dyno pulls with the Race MAF housing using KTuner's Race MAF basemap starting at 175 degree coolant temps to around 180 degrees. The car put down similar consistent numbers within a 1 horsepower and 5 ft/lb tq window.

Honda Civic 10th gen PRL Motorsports Civic X 1.5T Product Development Eric%20Street%20vs%20Race_zpsyslecs0y

We used "Run 4" as an average comparison due to identical run conditions. The Race MAF provide a 4-5 hp and 2 ft/lb tq gain at peak and 10hp/10tq gains throughout the midrange over-top of the Street MAF. Another thing to note is the fact that knock control continued to decrease with the Race MAF housing. We started the runs at .65 knock control and continued improve to .45.

In case anyone was unaware, KTuner now offers safe and effective Race MAF housing-specific basemaps for our cold air and short ram intake systems. The Race MAF housing provides nice little gains up top and very notable gains throughout the midrange.
