Hey all,

I know currently my stock lx steels are 16x7 and +45mm offset. But after looking around for 16inch honda rims I ended up with a set of 5th gen prelude sh type 16inch rims for free (they are pretty rashed but easy fix).

These rims are 16x6.5 with +55 offset. I know that brings me 3.7mm (0.14inch) closer inwards on the suspension side and 16.4mm (0.65 inch) in further from the fender (livable visible difference).

Couple of questions, do you guys think it's worth getting a set of 5mm spacers and I'm 99% sure that the 5th gen prelude sh type used ball seat lugs so can I just use my current ones? Also I assume 215/55/16 tires are fine on the 6.5, I know 7inch width is ideal but eh. Thoughts?

I like 16inch rims since east coast Canada has garbage roads and tires are cheap but the main attraction for me is that I absolutely fell in love with those wheel in high school seeing late 90 early 2000s preludes. Here's what they look like (just grabbed from google)

Post some pics when you get them mounted
Sure can. I sanded and primed / painted / clear coated the face of them since they had some pretty bad curb rash. They look good but I'm going to give them a few weeks before mounting a tire.

Did you end up using spacers or anything? And do the tires seem fine on 6.5" rims? I ask because I've got a set of rims (7 spoke ones from an Accord) of the same size as you (16x6.5 +55) and want to be sure they will fit well.

Yeah the stock 215 width tires fit fine on 6.5 inch rims no issue. I ended up using 20mm spacers all around from a purely aesthetic stand point the car drove fine without them.

Here's a picture with spacers:

Thank you for the reply! I will probably forgo the spacers when I put the rims on next summer and see how they look (trying to avoid the extra cost, if possible)

Its crazy how wheel size has grown over the years. The civic makes that setup look tiny.

Agreed, doesn't help that the barrel of the rim is way smaller than the full size of it. Still love them though, using them for 16 inch winter rims now. Tossed a set of 17 inch 05 Accord Sport rims on the civic and they look much better for sizing.

Just still love those prelude rims too damn much to ever not use them.

They don't make 'em like they used to, that's for sure.
