This is my first car with a turbo, so please forgive my ignorance. I've been searching and reading, but this is a new world for me. I'm used to dealing with truck suspension and off-roading.

I've noticed when running the AC for a bit, there is a noticeable loss of power. This continues even if I turn the AC off. I assume it's due to heat build-up in the engine area, which results in hotter intake air temp (please correct me if I'm wrong in this assumption). What can I do, short of not using the AC, to help this situation? I was thinking the 27Won CAI may help.

Correlation likely, but not causation. If it is hot enough to run your AC, with lots of idling or spirited driving with intermittent stopping, the intercooler temperatures will rise and what ends up happening is a less dense charge is going into the engine. I've found my car loves temps in the mid 70's if I can get up to speed and get clean air.
