Do you still have the original downpipe or have you gone cateless? Curious how this sounds without the cat.
I kept the original downpipe. I just wanted to hear the exhaust a little more but still be somewhat mild.

This photo sold me on the Apex'i. It shipped today

Holy shit the package is 56 lbs lmao.
Maybe I shoulda went titanium... but would I really notice 30 pounds in the back of the car?
Oh well too late now!
I completely forgot to weigh the exhaust before installing it... It didn't feel too different from stock while I was installing it though... Can you weigh yours when you receive it please? :D

Owners of the Q300 swear of it being drone free. I'm not convinced as I have yet to sit in one with it's hard to really tell in videos.
LOL. That's what the guy was saying that gave me a ride...everybody doesn't believe him that there's no drone when he tells people he has the Q300. Invidia built up quite a reputation for itself...

Was it completely drone free or was it that it's very minimal to even know/hear it's there?

Now you're splittin hairs, lolol. Granted, it was a short ride and only on surface streets. But the owner was in a gear and speed that was in the "drone rev range" and I didn't hear anything. I know from experience with my R400 that the true test is the freeway test. Drone would be the worst on my R400 when cruising around 80~90 mph. But it's hard to ask that of an owner to: (a) go out of their way onto the freeway, and (b) break the 65 mph law, haha.

That's promising then. I'm very picky when it comes to exhaust lol. If the 27won doesn't satisfy the need, i'll just have to keep saving up for the much more expensive option (sequence).

Day 1 of Apex'i N1-X Evolution Extreme exhaust and I love it. Idles very slightly louder than stock.. But when you accelerate its got a great deep tone.
The best part is absolutely no drone cruising 50(in 5th) to 80mph (in 6th).
The sweet spot is around 3k RPM cruising where it is the quietest

Thanks to Jacob at Vivid Racing for the best price around and super fast shipping.

I'll have some exterior sound clips tomorrow.

Anyone have any experience with the MXP Comp RS? It doesn't seem to be a popular exhaust based on the search bar, but it looks pretty nice and its quite cheap comparatively.

I have an invidia r400 and I love it. Nice and deep and sounds even better with hondata. More pronounced gurgles and pops. Everyone blows drone out of proportion, or are just really sensitive. There will be some when off the gas at 3-5k or at half or partial throttle. Cruising on the highway 70-85 you don't notice anything unless you're going up hill and need to give it some gas to maintain speed.
Maybe the hearing damage from the army was worse than I thought haha.
It sounds awesome when you're driving spirited, without being obnoxiously loud or raspy. Gurgles and pops on downshifts and upshifts. And pops when you get up near redline or if traction control kicks in. For only $1000 it's a great deal

That's by far the best looking two-tip exhaust I've seen for our car. Any droning?

No drone when cruising at 50mph in 5th gear. Anything higher than that (60, 70, 80mph) in 6th gear and no drone. It's really quiet between 2500 and 3750 rpm.

When you accelerate its pretty loud but once you're cruising it's quiet.

If you don’t want drone and a better exhaust than the Q300.... get the American made Thermal RD

Just installed the Boost Logic valved exhaust system and I love it. Sounds just a tad louder than stock during cold starts but absolutely no drone. I just installed it the other day but will provide more feedback after this week.
