Hmm, gotta say I'm kinda surprised the torque isn't higher on the 1.5t

A little disappointed in the torque for the 1.5T. Was hoping for 180 lbs/ft or more.

42 MPG highway is very, very impressive though.

Could the torque number possibly be offset by the CVT? :dunno:

Perhaps not as much torque is needed with it. :hmm:

162 lbs-ft of torque isn't much for a compact sedan weighing about 3000 lbs. I was hoping for at least 180 lbs-ft of torque. The Mazda3 weighs about the same but has 184 hp and 185 lbs-ft of torque. Its EPA ratings are 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. I'd gladly trade up a couple of MPGs for more hp and torque.

Laughing at everyone complaining about the power figures when the current engine make 143hp/132tq... can't we all be alot happier about the substantial increase in power over the 1.8 instead of nitpicking? Honda's always been known for it's mpg first thinking... hence the lower than mazda3 torque/hp...

Besides it won't be long before a reflash is available for the 1.5T that'll easily up the power up to or over what the mazda makes.

Updated specs with dimensions and weight!
Ha!! and the new civic is lighter than the outgoing model. Makes the higher power engines even better :D The touring is easily the heaviest trim and it's lighter than the current EXL, so the lower trims should follow the trend and be lighter than the cars they replace.

NOTE*** Car and Driver clocks the 1.5T making 0-60 in 6.8 seconds

I'm good with the power and a little surprised that the turbo gets slightly better gas mileage than the NA. I'm a little disappointed with the weight. The "68lb lighter chassis" didn't materialize into a 68lb lighter car.

Sadly, C&D actually has the new sedan performing worse on the skidpad and stopping tests than the 14 sedan... mostly they said because of tires... easily fixed, and these are still pre production models... so things could change somewhat before the car is on sale... hoping the coupe gets stickier tires than the sedan since it's more performance oriented. Lower trims like the EXT on the coupe should be even quicker than the 6.8 on the touring sedan, that's close to current Si numbers... like wow!

Also noted in their review they said EX comes standard with remote engine start!? what!? really!?
