Normal 1.5t sound?

Is this high pitch sound normal? It shouldn't be hard to hear if you crank it up

When exactly did this occur? Had you driven the car hard previously? Warm or cold engine?

Right now I'm thinking it may just be some CVT belt whine. If it's only a once in a while thing, I wouldn't worry about it.

Funny you say that. My cvt was recently replaced under warranty.

The car is about 32K miles and transmission is replaced. Crazy.

Bummer man.

I didnt even know I had a cvt problem though. I just brought it in for this noise and they said it was coming from there. The noise is still there though with a new cvt though

All the CVTs whine somewhat especially when hot. Its normal. Had mine checked, they drove another and did the same.

I find it strange that you took it to a dealer and they just said “hey we gotta replace your transmission for free”

They don’t do that unless they broke it and don’t want to admit to it.

The sound I'm concerned with is the high pitch whirring siren sound. I brought it in for that sound and they replaced the cvt.

I didn't hear that sound at all during the first 1.5 years of ownership, so I got concerned. I never had a cvt either, but I feel like the cvt whine in others' videos sounds different than this one.

I’m on my second CVT trans and neither one I’ve had sounded like that, I’d say take it in.

Just an update : the sound was coming from the turbo and it was replaced under warranty

So you had your transmission and turbo replaced under warranty? Sounds like a lemon to me. Certainly not usual for this to come from a reputable brand like Honda.

Maybe they thought the noise was coming from the trans so they replaced that first with no success. You’d be surprised the techs they got at some Honda dealers
