Rebirth of the EP3? (although longer, taller, and possibly tippy-er?)

The R variant is strictly for the Asian market; they love the little Jazz. No chance coming to the US market. It barely breaks even here with low volume; almost like a "loss-leader" to get new Honda buyers hooked onto the brand. US buyers buy nine Civics for every one Fit.

However, I'd love to see a 200hp Fit here; a true pocket rocket given it's weight. And it's practically a mini-van with the second row seats folded down. I used to own a 2009 Fit. Loved it and only wished it had a little more power.

Confusing how it has less torque but more HP than the Si version of the 1.5t.

Does it rev higher? Honda said they could have tuned the 1.5t for more power at the cost of durability. Did they decide it was worth it for the Japanese market?

The Japanese market has super strict emissions regulations so most cars over there don't get a lot of mileage on them and get replaced frequently so it doesn't need to last like cars in the US do. here is a thread discussing this topic https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/japanese-mileage-limit-for-engines.1227046/

Wow, way to bust out the 15 year old atot thread
it was a top search result, I didn't look at dates. point is the subject matter, not the age.
