Hey guys!

I own a 2017 Civic Hatchback LX. It came with stock 16" wheels. I recently purchased some 18" OEM Sport wheels and some 20mm spacers from another member and they need new tires. I want an aggressive look with a medium/low profile but I still want them to be practical because its my daily driver and I commute in Los Angeles! My 16" tires are 215/ 55R 16

What do you guys recommend I go with? I'd like to stay under $450 for the 4 tires. Current Tires on the new rims are 235/40 R 18 91W

Keeping the price at $112.50 each in that size is going to be nearly impossible unless you buy crap. A decent tire that size is closer to $150.00+.

You could go less wide and find some 215/45-18's closer to your target price.

$450 is pretty hard to find. Discount tire/costco/other tire shops runs rebate promos every now and then on a 4-set of tires. Keep on the look out for them. Personally for your budget Cooper tires are probably the cheapest I would go.

But you would do yourself a disservice if you got a cheaper tire for this car.

I was legit just looking as these on Amazon. I think I'll go with the Zeon RS3-G1's. Do you like them?

I had them on my old GTI until I sold it. Should be fine for Southern California. They were good tires, but wear-ed pretty fast. I think 20k miles and was down to 4/32, not an overly aggressive driver either. Last set was a BFGoodrich that cost quite a bit more that lasted 32kish. I rotate my tires every 7k miles.

I have the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1's on my 2016 Sedan. Size is 215/55/R16, so not the same size you are looking at. I have just over 2000 miles on them now. Things I like: grip, grip, and grip. These things are glued to the road unless the road has frozen stuff on it. Wet or dry, the grip is amazing. Ride is firm, but not harsh. Noise is there, but not too bad really. Really fun on a twisty back country road. Things I don't like: my MPGs went down 4-5 compared to OEM Hankooks. Bought from Discount Tire Direct on a black friday deal.

Will I need to adjust anything on my car? Or should I be able to just do an install. I believe the diameter of the tire will increase from 24.5" to 25.4" based on my estimates. Should only affect the speedometer a little bit correct?

They do well in the wet?
For sure. Massive improvement over stock tires for me and they handle the rain and even snow pretty well. Drove it in a snowstorm we had here recently where the roads had 3-4 inches of snow on it and it handled it like a champ. As for rain, has plenty of grip and doesn't slip. Also, having a meatier tire helps in general with traction.

Do you drive these? I can push the extra money but I just want to make sure I'm getting something safe
Yes, I've used them on several vehicles. You'll notice they are very highly rated on Tire Rack. They are a summer tire but suitable for use year-round in warm climates. Some cold weather is fine but they certainly aren't snow tires.
