Did you buy the slammer? If so yes, you’ll need the boot adapter. I think it’s $10. I had the type r knob on before with the nut piece it comes with and it was compatible with this knob so mine stays up.

Can you buy that adapter along with the slammer? I may be ordering soon.

Is the boot adapter the black threaded long piece with the Allen screw on top? That’s what came with my Slammer I opted for an adapter.

Mine is the gloss black. Translucent was on backorder for this type. Their site has an installation guide on how to install them. It’s super easy.

I’m confused because I thought i opted for the adapter when I bought it but I don’t have that ring below the shifter like I see in those pics.

The silver ring? It may be an SI thing. It’s on the boot collar itself already.

I am referring to this piece in the picture, I dont have that. For me, the boot comes up and makes contact with the flush bottom of the knob, with nothing for it to grab onto or lock onto.

I left the stock SI silver locking nut and put the Raceseng black "adapter on top of it. Maybe I tightened something down too much and so I cant get the collar to stay now? Since it seems like I have all the hardware I need. I am not sure why this is so confusing for me I must be missing something.......

That piece is for the reverse lockout. Don’t need that. You need this.

I didn’t buy the boot adapter but was able to use the type R boot adapter and it works just fine. The boot is able to snap up and stay flush with the knob. This thing is huge and feels so different. I love it though.
