I think you’re going to be fine. Install it and post pics. I want to see that color!

So i just got my RED Translucent Slammer in the mail today and I am about to install it, any thoughts on if this can be bad for the longevity of the transmission?

Only asking because this thing is SOOOO HEAVY and I imagine that must have some small effects on the gear forks in the transmission, any thoughts on this?

If not I am going to install it because it looks and feels badass.

Sounds like tomorrow is gonna be a good day:headbang:

Also putting my LED fog lights from my EX-T back on and installing an Aeroflow v2 Splitter at the same time.

I work a ton so I buy a bunch of parts and then on my days off I do 5-6 installs at a time.

Tomorrow will be a great day ;)

The Slammer is seriously legit. I’ve had it for a month or so now and it’s definitely made shifting much easier with little effort. The shape is perfect too because it’s more of a teardrop shape than a ball.

It’s expensive for sure, but when you have it in your hands and feel the weight and see the excellent craftsmanship... it’s worth every penny.

It does get super cold and I’m sure super hot though! I might just remove the knob and bring it inside with me to work :D

How is the installation of these slammers?
Is there any aftermarket shift knob which is a direct fit?

Installation is rather simple and it comes with an adapter to make sure it fits. There are other knobs that will fit without adapters. Skunk2 and the type R fits just fine over it.

I’m about to install mine. How to I get the boot to come down to unscrew it?

Can I just start unscrewing the knob?

You need to squeeze both ends of the top of the boot and pull down. It takes a little force but it’ll come down. There’s a nut you’ll need to loosen and you can turn the knob the opposite direction and it’ll come off. Easy stuff.

Ok knob is on.

Will the boot collar go back up? It won’t snap back on for me. Do I need an adapter?

Did you buy the slammer? If so yes, you’ll need the boot adapter. I think it’s $10. I had the type r knob on before with the nut piece it comes with and it was compatible with this knob so mine stays up.

Ok knob is on.
