Hey guys I just picked up a black Type R and before I give it its first car wash, I wanted some advice as it’s been a while since I’ve owned anything worth keeping pristine. I have a bunch of products from back in the day and wondering if these would be worthy of using. I can’t afford a ceramic coating job so please let me know what my second best alternative would be
Thank you

So, it's my understanding that Klasse AIO is also a sealant, which is to say is it's a chemical bond to the paint (...that's not as strong as ceramic-coating). I wold imagine you could use Klasse and Wolfgang simultaneously, but I'm not sure if the order matters (Klasse before Wolfgang, or vice versa), or if dual-sealing is even necessary. Regardless, I'd use a wax anyway.

I think the level of protection is thus (from least-lasting to longest-lasting)
• Wax
• Sealant
• Clearcoat & Paint

Make sense?

If you really want to take the next step in protection (and maybe we should given Honda's track record with soft paint coupled with the fact that anything other than swirl-free immaculateness for black paint is blasphemy :D), then consider ceramic-coating (can be done yourself, depending on your skill, or otherwise pay to have it done. Estimates vary, but expect near $1k).

Otherwise, PPF is the ultimate, but super-costly. It's far outside of my operating budget, so, I prefer careful cleaning + avoiding as many daily hazards as possible (e.g., sprinklers, other cars in parking lots, parking under trees, etc.)

PPF is your best bet for sure - preferably the day you pick it up. Enclosed trailer direct to the installer.

Protect yourself from water spots. That seems to be my #1 annoyance...but I'm ceramic coated so it does pretty well to hold up on its own.

Would love to, but don’t have the means currently. Did a klasse aio and wolf gang sealant so far

That should work pretty well. Any quality wax really should help you with beading and keeping it nice. Paint chips easily on these it seems-

I don’t even mind the waxing. I just don’t want water spots. Just ordered black fire glass and paint water spot remover.
