I ordered some 18x9.5 ET45 wheels from VMR. I'm not sure but I believe the only tire I can run is a 275x35 R18 for a winter tire. Can somebody help me figure out if I can run a smaller width tire or if I will be ok running such a wide winter tire?

not 100% sure but yeah, 275 sounds like the safest minimum width tire for a 9.5" rim. Did you buy these rims specifically for snows? Do you still have the narrower OEM wheels? if so, maybe put snows on the OEMs?

The recommendations for snow tires is the narrowest possible to better cut through the snow vs sitting on top of the snow. In the old days, it was often a -1 or -2 sizing from OEM - narrower width and taller sidewall.
