The R is just one of those cars that is going to have issues like this and you either deal with it or don't.

I've already bailed early on too many cars recently for similar issues so in order to not completely financially hamstring myself I'll be sticking around, but it's disappointing.

Same problem here, #15315. I’ve also ridden in an R around number 500, and another near 2000, and both have the same noise. Dealership investigated for a while and couldn’t find anything noticeably wrong.

Junk Mitsu turbo... Honda should have used an IHI turbo an should have never used electronic wastegate

Not worried for all the weird noises the car makes. Got HC for 8/120k miles. Stay out of mods!

uh, I don't know how many 4 cylinder turbos you've owned, they don't make particularly good exhaust notes...

Also Type R sound system is ok....

I have owned 9 Subarus and none of them sounded like crap!!!
Bottom line is that Hondas wastegate actuator sounds like dropping keys in a grinder and Honda is not doing a single thig about it.

If you mean by the 3 to 4 k rpm noises when cruising then yeah, it doesn't sound very nice.

Sound speakers are fine by me. It's not comparable to W205's Burmester or my e46's HK but it's a Honda after all.

I got a chance to take my car to the dealer yesterday . Mentioned the wastegate actuator and was told they can’t do anything until Honda Corp declares this a problem. According to them, all the noises are “normal.”

I also had the annoying buzzing/bezzing noise on acceleration which they said was also “normal.”
