Installed the intake yesterday. Took a little longer than expected as it didn't come with instructions but everything's pretty straightforward. Intake sounds great. Just some questions...

    1. pretty loud rattling, can't seem to find where it's coming from though the intake does vibrate quite a lot. Normal?
    2. location of MAF is a bit farther from stock and the wires don't have much play. Worth worrying about? Would removing that L shaped plastic piece help with this?
    3. Intake seems to get pretty hot... would something like a heatwrap or heatshield be worth putting on? anyone with noticeable differences in IATs?

Thanks in advance, sorry if this should've been posted in an existing thread.

I removed the plastic elbow piece from the wire to give it little more room. The rattling is probably coming from the bracket, the bolt from the OE airbox is not threaded, I put 3-4 washers in there to eliminate the rattling. Regarding the IAT, it’s not the best, wrapping turbo/downpipes should help.

159BEB14-AC44-4D54-8DC6-FAEA230675EA.jpeg I just wrapped mine(dei gold) yesterday actually, I’ve only driven to work and home since so I don’t have a full rundown but there doesn’t seem to be any difference in temps for me. Also I noticed with the MAP intake, even though iat1 is hotter than stock iat2 is still the same. I have PRL Intercooler and downpipe(lava wrapped)

Ps. Ignore the horrible wrap job I did it really quick before a job and will probably just take it off if I don’t notice any drop in my temps

I’m curious as to why you didn’t get the PRL intake when you already have the FMIC and DP.

The area I live in floods like stupid (Sw FL) so that’s why I didn’t get the cobra. I was pretty close to getting the race maf short ram but I like the filter location on the MAP. Also I got a good deal on it in members classified here which made the price difference worth it. Also I don’t believe intakes really give much power difference at just fbo pump gas so the cheaper option was the way to go

Intake looks great! Were any codes thrown with the install? Also has there been any change on your temps while in traffic?

If I bought it straight from them like I planned on before I saw someone post for sale on here I probably would’ve had it coated from them. I planned to just do black but seeing your red makes me think about doing a different color, maybe even something extreme like purple that’d be some bling for the engine bay :hmm:
